Planning an outside wedding wasn’t as difficult as I thought it would be. It wasn’t as expensive as an indoor wedding would have been. Having the natural beauty of the outdoors saved us a lot of money on decorations. The first thing I had to do was to find the perfect location to have our summer wedding and reception. I could have had our wedding ceremony on the beach, with a fun filled beach party reception, or an elegant garden party, but I chose a ceremony and reception in the park. I found there were several great locations that would work out perfectly for an outdoor wedding.
Since I never planned a wedding like this before, I needed all the help I could get. I found out you need to have a plan B, in case inclement weather unexpectly arises. So we arranged to have a tent set up to move the ceremony into if necessary, just as a precaution.
We had canopies arranged for our reception and barring bad weather, planned to be wed under a lovely trellis. I only had to get decorations for my bridal table and the reception tables for our friends and family. With the beautiful background of the park as our main décor, all I really needed besides table settings were a few extra flowers here and there. By using artificial flowers I thought we may be able to avoid any univited guests, like bees. The only way you could tell that the flowers were artificial, was by touch, they were beautiful. Although planning wasn’t as difficult a chore as I thought, there were quite a few things to take care of. There are some spectacular summer wedding ideas, but the sun can turn your beautiful wedding cake into a gooey pool of confection.
I found quite a few terrific accessories that I could use for the reception. I had little park bench place card holders at each table setting, and little citronella votive candles in glass globes with a nice flower arrangement as our centerpieces. For each of our guests there were beautiful chrome bottle openers in lovely designed favor boxes, as a summer favor. One of the most decorative things on our wedding table was our gorgeous wedding cake with the beautiful cake topper I ordered.
I found it while browsing online for my other wedding accessories, and fell in love with it. They were customized toppers for the wedding couple. They put our faces on our cake topper, and all I had to do was send them a photo of me and my fiance. How could I ask for a better wedding keepsake than that? Everyone at the reception had something to say about how unique it was. All the wonderful accessories I ordered for our reception and wedding ceremony came from the same place, including our champagne flutes and silver cake set. It was amazing all the super accessories you can buy online.
Everything at the wedding and reception were fantastic. The weather cooperated and we never had to go to plan “B” with the tents. We all loved the super DJ and the fantastic job he was doing, and if I’m right, he probably kept the music and dancing going on for quite a while after we left to go on our honeymoon. There were many good comments about our beautiful wedding ceremony and fun filled reception party we had. The park turned out to be the perfect place to have our wedding and reception.
