Before making any plans, I got her opinion on what she wanted for her party, and it was a party at the roller rink with all the girls sleeping over. I immediately got on the phone and reserved tables at the local roller rink. Then I invited all of her best girl friends. It was a lot cheaper than I figured it would be. Refreshments, pizza and hot dogs were also part of the package, and didn’t cost very much at all. I got the house prepared for the party that was to continue after skating. I put out the cookies I had made, along with a few other snacks, and set up birthday decorations.

The cookie cutters wasn’t the only thing I ordered online. Since this birthday party wasn’t costing me what I thought it would, I decided to order a few sweet sixteen favors for the girls. I ordered some adorable pink photo albums for all the girls, and disposable cameras for them to take pictures of the party. They all knew about the cameras, so they could take pictures at the roller rink, but they had no clue about the albums I bought for them. I’m glad they only took a few pictures at the skating rink, so they would be able to take pictures of the sleepover too.

I also bought each of them little cosmetic bags with their initials on the front. With the cosmetic bags I bought manicure sets and little purse mirrors to go with it. I also sat out these adorable little favor boxes I bought online that were filled with candies for each guest. At home, her sweet sixteen favor and presents awaited, and we took care of that as soon as we got there. There were plenty of snacks and drinks, girlie teen movies for them to watch, so they were good to go for the evening. They turned on some of their music and danced around for a while, then they took out their manicure sets and started to work on nails, and give make overs to each other. You could tell they were all having a fantastic time.

After they tired themselves out, they decided to put on a movie and grab the popcorn. I wanted to give them as much space as I could and not intrude on their girl time, but I got an invitation to join them for a movie. It made me feel good that they wanted to include me. They actually made it through the first two movies before they started nodded off, one by one. Soon, the only ones awake were me and my daughter, but she didn’t last much longer. With her eyes almost closed, she told me how much she loved her birthday party and thanked me.

They ate breakfast and cleaned up everything left from the birthday party before I even got out of bed. I thought that was very thoughtful of them to do that for me. They hung around with my daughter for a couple of hours, then the kids started heading for home. Each of the girls said they had a great time at the party and they loved the cheap sweet sixteen favors I got them. I like that my daughter and her friends now consider me to be a cool mom.

When I got up in the morning the girls were already downstairs and had eaten, then straightened up everything from the party. It was really sweet of the girls to do that. They shared a couple of more hours together and then some of the girls had left for home. Each of the girls said they had a great time at the party and they loved the cheap sweet sixteen favors I got them. I like that my daughter and her friends now consider me to be a cool mom.
